Rick Marsilio

Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator

Rick brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of Arena football operations and coaching. Most recently, Rick served as the Assistant General Manager, Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the Harrisburg Stampede of the (PIFL).

 

He was on the staff in Harrisburg for the past seven years, serving as Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator of the 2013 AIF National Champions. Coach Marsilio was the only staff member that had been with the Stampede since inception (2007).  Rick was first hired as the QB/WR coach. After 2011 season, he was promoted to the position of Assistant HC and OC. Coach Rick’s offense was consistently rated as one of the top producing offenses in all of arena football and produced All-League Players each season, as well as, several MVP’s.

 

Coach Marsilio played QB at University of Akron (1986-1987) and Towson State University (1988-1990). Rick played in the AEFL (Europe) for 1991 season. 

Born in Hazleton, PA., to Joe and Mary Ann Marsilio, Rick attended Marian Catholic High School in Hometown, Pa. After graduation from Marian, Marsilio received a scholarship to play football at the University of Akron, under former Notre Dame Coach Gerry Faust. After an Akron coaching change, Marsilio landed at Towson State University.

 

Rick is married to Deb and they are the proud parents of Nick (17) and Derek (14). Marsilio owns a healthcare consulting business and in the off-season is an assistant football coach at Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, 

Jake Minnich

Asst.Head Coach/Offensive Line

Coach Minnich has years of experience on all levels dating back to the 70’s.  From 2010-2014 he served as an offensive assistant for the Harrisburg Stampede where they won the AIFA Championship in 2013. He has coached several NFL players most noteworthy is LeSean (Shady) McCoy.  He and his wife Kim reside in Mechanicsburg and have one son, Jason, daughter-in-law, Shannon, and 2 grandchildren, Tanner and Laurel.  Coach Minnich joined the York Capitals staff in 2015 and serves as the Assistant Coach and Offensive Line Coach.

 

 

 

Nelson Drew

Running Backs Coach

Nelson graduated for Eastern Michigan University in 2006 with a degree in Electronic Media and Film and a minor in Business.   He played football from 2002 to 2006 where he was a four year letterman, and once was named offensive player of the Week. After working out for different leagues such as the NFL and AAFL, Nelson ended up signing a contract with the Bloomington Extreme in the UIF. After his career Nelson decided to coach with the Delaware Buccaneers.    

 

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

 

  • Three years starter for Caravel Academy One year starter for Newark Football.

  • Four-Year Letterman at Eastern Michigan. Special Teams Captain

  • Signed with Bloomington Extreme UIF League

Reginald Shipp

Special Teams Coordinator/Defensive Line

Coach Shipp comes to the York Capitals from the Virginia Titans Football Organization in Richmond, Virginia.  He has a tremendous amount of football experience as a standout player

and coach. He was a standout at running back & cornerback at Dunbar and had a brief stint at the University of Michigan. He has played Arena, Developmental, Euro, and Semi-Pro Football from 1996-2010. He won multiple League Championships and appeared in several All-Star games through his playing career in Virginia, Florida, Colorado, Texas, NY and Spain. 

Rick White

Defensive Coordinator

Rick played for 3 years at Thomas McKean High School, and coached for 3 years after graduation.  He also coached in the City of Wilmington for 1 year.  Rick attended Wilmington University and Delaware Tech Community College and earned a degree in Exercise Science. He joined the Delaware Buccaneers Indoor Football Team coach staff in 2013.   Rick looks to bring a fun, intense, hardworking, and competitive attitude to the Linebackers/ Special teams . The ultimate goal: to help his players achieve their personal and football goals.

AIF Professional Indoor Football Team Harrisburg Pennsylvania

The Penn Capitals is a Professional Indoor Football team headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Owned by Issac "Hank" Carn and assisted by Head Coach Rick Marsilio, the franchise offers football players from all college levels the opportunity to try out for their team.  The Penn Capitals is part of the American Indoor Football League Network. Roster invitees who make the team receive a salary per game, along with travel and hotel accomodations. The stadium is located near Maryland, Washington DC, Delaware, Virginia, New Jersey, and New York. If you are looking for entertainment for the family and you are near Harrisburg Pa, please consider coming to one of our home games where we provide a fun family atmosphere.
