Rick Marsilio

Head Coach & Offensive Coordinator

 

Rick Marsilio has been named the new Head Coach of the York Capitals. Rick brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of Arena football operations and coaching. Most recently, Rick served as the Assistant General Manager, Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the Harrisburg Stampede of the (PIFL).

 

Rick was on the staff in Harrisburg for the past seven years, serving as Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator of the 2013 AIF National Champions. Coach Marsilio was the only staff member that had been with the Stampede since inception (2007).  Rick was first hired as the QB/WR coach. After 2011 season, Rick was promoted to the position of Assistant HC and OC.

 

Coach Rick’s offense was consistently rated as one of the top producing offenses in all of arena football and produced All-League Players each season, as well as, several MVP’s.

 

Rick played college football as a QB at University of Akron (1986-1987) and Towson State University (1988-1990). Rick then signed a professional contract to play in the AEFL (Europe) for 1991 season. 

 

Born in Hazleton, PA., to Joe and Mary Ann Marsilio, Rick attended Marian Catholic High School in Hometown, Pa. After graduation from Marian, Marsilio received a scholarship to play football at the University of Akron, under former Notre Dame Coach Gerry Faust. After an Akron coaching change, Marsilio landed at Towson State University.

 

Marsilio is married to Deb and they are the proud parents of Nick (17) and Derek (14). Marsilio owns a healthcare consulting business and in the off-season is an assistant football coach at Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, PA.
